The roots of Luscher & Matiesen brand go back to 1910, when Swiss-born Arnold Lüscher and estonian Paul Matiesen established a vodka factory in Moscow. Back in the day the wide product portfolio included from imported whisky and cognac to some exotic liqueurs.

In 1940s Russian occupation ruined the original company structure in Estonia.

The new era of Luscher & Matiesen started 2009 when Peke met 100-year old Dimitri Matiesen in Toompea by the old factory facilities. Today Luscher & Matiesen is running Estonian drink culture museum, which has been nominated the best tourism object in Estonia 2014.

Now 2017 we are proud to launch the first official Matiesen wine – Algus rosé from our Muhu Veinitalu vineyard. Algus means beginning in Estonian. This is a micro batch wine made from Rondo, Solaris and Pinot Noir grapes. Luscher & Matiesen also starts importing carefully selected quality wines from European top producers and selling them under the Matiesen brand. Matiesen trademark is quarantee of high quality.

Besides wines Luscher & Matiesen brings spirits to its product portfolio. First line extension is a cask strength imported cognac.  After while Luscher & Matiesen distillery will start distilling own alcohol in Tallinn.
